Top 10 most ridiculous Halloween songs for your party playlist
My husband and I are planning our annual pumpkin-carving party, and I drank wayyy too much coffee while brainstorming songs to put on our playlist this year. (The coffee overdose also led to me putting together the above Disco Dracula illustration, which is now officially my Halloween Spirit Animal.)
These songs are awesome to add to your Halloween playlist because they make the adults laugh, and if you have kids at your party they'll love them too! (Although read the commentary for #8 and BE WARNED).
I love Halloween parties, but at this point I'm just excited for the excuse to dance to these amazingly tacky songs:
1) Super Freak by Rick James
Not even M.C. Hammer could touch this beat. He even made a song about how untouchable it is.
2) Superstition by Stevie Wonder
It's pretty much impossible to listen to this song without doing a sassy disco strut.
3) Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.
Who knew this video was so hilariously tacky?? (Plus why are there so many random cameos?)
4) Tainted Love by Soft Cell
Make your inner 80's kid very, very happy with this song.
5) Abracadabra by Steve Miller Band
((Confession: I listen to this song all year round.))
6) Mr. Roboto by Styx
Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. The lyrics to this one are epic.
7) Thriller by Michael Jackson
I tried to avoid songs that were obvious cliches in this list, buuuut THIS SONG NEVER GETS OLD. *OW!*
8) Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees
So while I was putting together this list, my 4-year-old heard "Stayin' Alive" for the first time. OH NO. We've now listened to it so many times that even my 1-year old started saying "ah, ah, ah, ah."
9) Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell
If you listen closely to the chorus of this song, one of the artists from the above songs on this list is making a guest appearance!
10) Evil Woman by Electric Light Orchestra
Theme of this list: men singing in really high-pitched voices.
